World record attempt
John O'Groats to Land's End
Starts 10th Sept 2019

Hello. I’m Angela aka The Running Granny. I am on a mission to empower and help people to look after their own health.

Why do I want to do this?
I have seen first hand through my career in the NHS and voluntary work with Age UK how poor health in old age leads to a poor quality of life. But, I also know that many of these long term health conditions can be prevented by embracing a healthy lifestyle.

What is the truth?
Currently 15 million people, around one quarter of the UK population, have at least one Long Term Condition and 70% of the whole health and care budget is spent on managing and treating those people. We all know the that the current situation is unsustainable and the problem can’t be solved by simply providing more money.

What is my vision?
My vision is to create a online platform where people can be informed, inspired and encouraged to adopt a healthier lifestyle. I believe human beings are designed to thrive and this is at the heart of a happy society.

How am I going to do this?
Well the first thing I’m doing is on September 10th, I will run from John O Groats to Land’s End, a total distance of about 840 miles and attempt to set a new World Record as the Oldest Female to do it.

I am doing this to raise £25,000 so we can create and build our online platform, Going for Old.

How can you help?
Follow me on social media and share with all your friends Donate to our cause and guess the Jogle time (John O Groats to Lands End) to win some fabulous prizes.

Come on this journey with me because it will be of enormous benefit to all of us. We all have the power to make a change today. Small steps lead to big changes.
