Overnight Near Bannockburn – This Was A Victory For England And Boy, What A Tart
Angela covered 34 miles yesterday with an ascent of 2250 feet. How you do that carrying an injury is beyond me! Overnight was at a truck stop at 20:00 just south of Bannockburn and a much deserved rest. Apparently, treacle tart and custard was the order of the day enjoyed by all.
Unlike Edward II in 1314, Angela was not defeated at Bannockburn and has set off on her way south this morning, passing east of Glasgow towards Carstairs Junction. She is moving well and in good spirits. As at 13:00 she has covered roughly a total of 285 miles – that’s a third of the way. The support team have been doing a fantastic job but with Neil, Ros, Dave and Kath due to depart later today, Joe will be providing lone support until late tomorrow morning. Hope his cooking is up to it!
