Be Kind – Random acts of kindness

We want to encourage you to add some more kindness into your day. Kindness can be a thoughtful word, a helping hand, or expressed through a smile. Just one act of kindness a day makes us calmer, healthier, and happier – relieving symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression.

Kindness is contagious, people who witness acts of kindness feel the same warmth, and comfort as those that give, or receive it. They will be inspired to spread their own kindness. Being kind is one of the few things that doubles when you share it – it can start with just one act, but the unique ripple effect leads to a positive impact on our community – making a more caring society.

Here are a few ways you could spread a little kindness, each day:

Pay someone a compliment.

Pick up some litter.

Visit an elderly neighbour/relative, and offer to help.

Send a card/letter to someone, just to make them smile.

Offer to take a photo, so they can be in the picture too.

Start a conversation with someone.

Give blood.

Leave a review when you’ve received good service.

Volunteer your time.

Donate to your local food bank.
