Here are another couple of small steps in my quest to reduce my alcohol consumption. I would offer to be the driver when going out on social occasions. That way, it’s very simple, I don’t drink alcohol at all. I don’t mind not drinking and have just as good a time as the others – in fact sometimes a better time as I don’t wake up with a bad head and feeling rubbish the next day.
It’s easy to feel under pressure sometimes to drink alcohol when in social settings but to avoid feeling like this I tend to drink sparkling water with ice and lemon and people assume I have an alcoholic drink. There are also plenty of non-alcoholic options available now which are very pleasant.
